Hey Reader, Some months move slow, while others feel like a wave. August was a wave of activity at LIFE2Cbus! With block parties, Bible studies, shelves being filled and friends being fed, the month overflowed with both need and neighborly love. It’s been a beautiful reminder that when people show up, healing happens. We're rolling out a new project called The Thursday Resource Hub within the lobby of LIFE Church. It's a drop-in, one-stop-shop opportunity for neighbors to receive food, clothes, encouragement and potentially even counseling and social work assistance! Read on for details. July Recap1) Block Party at Blackburn ParkWith an incredible team of volunteers, we hosted a lively Eastside block party at Blackburn Park—distributing 125 lbs of clothing, dozens of children's toys, and sharing joy through face painting and book reading with local kiddos! 2) Weekly Resource HubFor months, we have been meeting folks needs as they randomly drop into the church at various hours throughout the week. That was an early model suitable for a small amount of folks, but as numbers grow it's become unfair and unsustainable. So to compliment our growth we kicked off a weekly "Resource Hub" every Thursday from 10am - 5pm. Within this window we assist folks with loads of different needs from clothing to hygiene items. I'm also excited to share that before distributing needs, we're holding a 10am Bible study to engage our friends in our deeper hope and source... Jesus! It launched with 7 curious neighbors eager to dig into the scriptures. Here's our first 2 Resource Hub's by the numbers:
3) New Indoor Public PantryWe’ve added a pantry shelf in the church lobby! Drop off non-perishable food donations this Sunday—or email me if you need to schedule a different time. Let’s keep it stocked for our friends who are hungry. September NewsThis month, our biggest need is help at the Thursday Resource Hub. 💥 Whether you can give an hour or a full day, we need folks to:
🕒 There will be hour-long shift signups (click here to view signups). 🍱 We also need pre-Thursday help—especially people willing to purchase & pack lunches for distribution. If you're interested in that, please shoot me an email! 🙏 We know Thursdays fall in the middle of the workweek, but if you’ve got even a small window to serve, we’d love to have you on the team. We also are looking to begin talks with social workers and healthcare workers to begin to offer even more resources on that Thursday. So please be praying for us! We’re also gearing up for our regular service opportunities this month—stay tuned for all the ways you can plug in. (Hint: there's something for every schedule and every skillset 👏) 👕 Limited LIFE2Cbus T-shirts!After waiting for far too long, we finally have "LIFE2Cbus" t-shirts available for purchase! All profits from the tee's go straight back into our efforts. I would suggest getting them shipped directly to the church by clicking the "Pick up from Aaron Ellington" to avoid shipping and handling fee's. These are only available for 2 weeks, so jump on 'em while you can! Check them out by clicking here! September Service Opportunities:“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24 If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out via email: Aaron@LifeVineyardChurch.com Aaron Ellington Minister "It's all Love."
