Hey Reader, April was a steady month — clothes moved, hygiene moved, neighbors got loved on. But behind the scenes, this past month was about something else entirely: building the table we've been telling you we need to set. For months, Erin Bushman and I have been quietly building tools that will let LIFE2Cbus love our neighbors at scale — without burning out the volunteers we already have. In April, two of those tools went live. In May, you finally get to use them. Pull up a chair. Here's where we are. April RecapA faithful month. Nothing flashy — and that's the point. We showed up, and our partners and neighbors felt it.
🎥 Watch the Vision + Commission talkIf you weren't able to make it in person, please don't skip past this. This is the clearest picture I've shared all year of where LIFE2Cbus is going and how I'm asking you to help us get there. At the end of that talk, I asked folks to schedule a 1-on-1 with me to talk about what stepping in might look like for them. A bunch of you already did — thank you. There's still room on my calendar, and I'd love to sit with you.
➕ Bonus Resource: A Sermon for the ServantsI preached at LIFE Vineyard Church recently on Holy Spirit-empowered servanthood, and a lot of what I said connects directly to where we are as an org right now. If serving feels heavy lately — or if it doesn't feel heavy enough — give it a listen. May NewsThe New Serve Portal is live → life2cbus.org/serveIf you've ever signed up to serve with us, you know our old system was clunky. You'd click a link, fill out a form, and… that was it. No record of your hours. No way to see what was coming next. No way for us to easily reach you. That ends today. Erin Bushman and I have spent months building a brand-new Serve Portal — and it's live at life2cbus.org/serve Here's what's different this time:
It's the difference between a sign-up sheet and a community. Please go set up your account, even if you've served with us a hundred times before — it lets us actually count you, contact you, and care for you well. Introducing: Resource Drops 🚚We launched a brand-new serve event in May, and it's the easiest "yes" we've ever offered. Resource Drops is exactly what it sounds like:
That's it. It's family-friendly. It's quick. It's perfect for someone who wants to help but can't commit to a full Resource Hub shift. Right now we're running it once a month, and we'd love to see new faces step in. 👉 Learn more & sign up for Resource Drops A New Neighbor Records System (this is huge)Erin Bushman and myself (mainly Erin — let's be honest) have built a tracking system that:
This means no more guessing. No more lost prayer requests. No more "I think we gave them shoes last month?" Every neighbor gets remembered, named, and prayed for. That's dignity at the systems level.
